About Chef Sandy
Sandy Daswani, mother of 2, cook, chef, author, recipes presenter, have turn her love of cooking, into a passion, and her passion into an art.
Starting more than 20 years ago, at Pullman Hotel, she moved to manage an industrial canteen at a large garment factory; having gained valuable experience, she opened her own business “Calypso Catering” serving over 500 guests at a time at weddings, cocktails, anniversaries.
Later she moved to Cape Town, South Africa as Chef for a French restaurant, located in the posh Shopping mall of Tiger Valley Centre, serving Classic French and fusion cuisine.
Back to Mauritius, she opened her Guesthouse, serving Mauritian/Creole cuisine, amalgam of French, English, Creole, Indian, Chinese, Malay cultures the cuisine is a fusion of all these cultures, and yet present a very distinctive character of its own, a real explosion of colours, senses and flavours.
